In short:

- Huckleberry's nap timing (SweetSpot) and sleep plans are in its paid plans; its free plan logs and syncs.
- Livia's next-nap estimate, partner sync and log checks are free, with no ads.
- You can bring your Huckleberry history into Livia.

Huckleberry and Livia both log feeds, sleep and diapers and both estimate
when the next nap is likely. The difference is what sits behind a paywall
and what the app is for. Huckleberry is a sleep company with a tracker
attached: its nap timing, SweetSpot, and its sleep plans are in the paid
Plus and Premium plans. Livia is a tracker first: the next-nap estimate,
real-time partner sync, offline logging and the checks that catch typos in
the log are all in the free app, with no ads. We make Livia, so read this
knowing that; every claim about Huckleberry links to Huckleberry's own
pages, checked in October 2026.

## How do the nap estimates differ?

Both apps estimate the next nap from your baby's sleep log and from typical
awake times for the age. Huckleberry calls its version SweetSpot and sells
it as part of Plus and Premium. Livia's is on the home screen of the free
app, under "Next nap likely around", with a ⓘ that says what it rests on:
hours of sleep by age from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, nap
counts and schedules from the AAP, and awake-time ranges that Livia openly
calls a rule of thumb. When a nap probably went unlogged, Livia stops
guessing and asks you to add it rather than show a time it can't stand
behind. The full mechanics are in
[how Livia knows when the next nap is likely](/blog/how-livia-knows-when-the-next-nap-is-likely).

## How does partner sync differ?

Huckleberry's free plan syncs across devices. Livia's does too, free, and
each caregiver has their own sign-in by emailed code, so a grandparent or
nanny can be added and removed without sharing a password, every entry
shows who logged it, and a timer started on one phone is running on the
other. Logging never waits for the network on either phone. Details in
[how two parents share one baby tracker](/blog/how-two-parents-share-one-baby-tracker).

## What does Huckleberry do that Livia doesn't?

- **Sleep plans and coaching.** Huckleberry's paid plans include
personalised sleep plans and, at the top tier, access to sleep experts.
Livia gives routine estimates and never a programme.
- **Years of history and a large community.** Huckleberry has years of
releases behind it. Livia is new and in early access before its App Store launch.
- **An assistant today.** Huckleberry's AI chat exists now; Livia's
[Ask Livia](/#assistant-heading) is coming soon, and will answer from
your own log, with any guidance from a named source (AAP, CDC, NIH).
- **Export.** Livia doesn't have export yet.

## What does Livia do that Huckleberry doesn't, or charges for?

- **The next-nap and bedtime estimate, free.** Everything Huckleberry
sells in Plus and Premium that is tracking rather than coaching is in
Livia's free app; Livia's only paid feature will be Ask Livia.
- **Log checks.** "Did you mean 120 ml?", a duplicate feed from two parents
resolved in a tap, a forgotten timer checked on, a missed nap asked about.
  [How that works](/blog/why-livia-asks-did-you-mean-120-ml).
- **A night counted whole.** Last night is one number, in the morning it
ends in, and a day is last night plus its naps.
  [Why that matters](/blog/why-baby-trackers-split-the-night-in-two).
- **Insights with the source named.** When yesterday was inside the range
the AAP publishes, Livia says so, in your baby's name, and links the page.
When it wasn't, it says days vary and points to your pediatrician. Never
  "low" or "too much".
- **A calm, dark, one-handed screen.** No shop, no community feed, no
upsell between you and the Log button. Turn off what you don't track and
  the buttons disappear.

## Can I move from Huckleberry to Livia?

Yes, with your history:

1. In Huckleberry, open the Child tab and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Tap **Export tracking data as CSV**; Huckleberry emails you the file
(check Spam too). Save it to Files on your phone. It exports one child
at a time, once a day, so log your last entries there first.
2. In Livia, go to **More → Import your history**, choose Huckleberry and
pick that file. If you're setting Livia up for the first time, the link
is on the baby's name step.
3. Livia shows what it found, you tap Import, and the entries appear in
History, synced to your partner like anything else.

Importing the same file twice adds nothing, so you can export again later
and bring over what's new. The file is read on your phone and never
uploaded.

## Which should you choose?

**Choose Huckleberry** if you want a sleep-training plan, coaching, or a
chat with an expert, and you're happy to subscribe for the nap timing that
comes with it.

**Choose Livia** if what you want is a tracker: fast at 3 am, both phones in
sync, the next nap on the home screen, a log that catches its own slips,
and nothing to pay. [Get early access](/#download), free, and your account
carries over when Livia reaches the App Store.

Whichever you pick, neither app replaces your pediatrician. Bring any
question about feeding, sleep or growth to them.
