Livia is a baby tracker for feeds, sleep, diapers, growth and more. This page explains what the app and this website store, where it lives, who can see it, and how to have it deleted. The short version: your baby's logs are used to run the tracker for you and the caregivers you invite. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't share your logs with anyone.
Who we are
Livia and this website are made by Aqua Innovations LLC, a Delaware limited liability company based in New Jersey, USA. We decide how the data described on this page is used and are responsible for it. “We” on this page means Aqua Innovations LLC.
What the app stores
- Your account: your email address, your first name and, if you give it, how you're related to each baby (mom, dad, grandma…). You sign in with a one-time code we email you, so there's no password to store.
- Your baby's profile: the name and birth date (or due date) you enter; if you use adjusted age, the due date; if you use the growth chart, whether it uses the WHO curves for girls or for boys; and the settings you share for that baby (what you track, naps a day, nighttime hours).
- What you log: feeds (breast sides and minutes, bottle amounts, formula brand, cow's milk), meals (which meal, the foods and roughly how much, if you add them), pumping amounts, sleep, diapers (and their brand, if you pick one), growth measurements and, if you turn them on, milestones, vaccines and medicine doses (as you write them), any note you add to an entry, with their times, which caregiver logged each entry, and any edits or deletions.
- Caregivers: each caregiver's first name and relationship to the baby (if given), shown to the others who share a baby, and which babies they can see. When you invite someone, we store the email address you invited and send them one invitation email (with your first name and the baby's name), through our email provider, Resend.
- Premium waitlist: if you join the waitlist for a feature that isn't ready yet (such as Ask Livia), we store that your account joined, when, and any questions you typed there, so we know what to build and can tell you when it's ready.
- Ask Livia: where it answers (it is being rolled out), each question you type and the answer are stored with the baby, so everyone who cares for that baby sees the same conversation, and so we can review answers and improve them. To write an answer, the app sends the question, the last two exchanges, a short summary of earlier conversations about that baby, the baby's first name, age and a set of summary numbers from the log (averages over the last two weeks such as feeds a day, hours of sleep and diapers, and the growth measurements, milestones and diaper size you logged, and the names of any medicine logged in the last two days with how long ago, never amounts, notes or exact times) to our AI provider, which uses them only to produce the answer. We keep the summary of earlier conversations, and which answers you marked helpful or not. Questions and answers go with the baby: they are deleted when the baby is removed, and when you delete your account for a baby only you cared for; on a baby you share, they stay with the other caregivers, with your name removed.
Where it lives
Everything you log is saved on your phone first, so the tracker works without a connection. It is also synced to our database, hosted by Supabase, so it reaches the caregivers you invite and comes back if you change phones. Data is encrypted in transit, and the database only lets each account read the babies it has been given access to.
Who can see it
- You, and the caregivers you invite to a baby. Each of them sees and can log for that baby.
- The person who set up a baby can remove a caregiver at any time. They lose access on their phone straight away; what they logged stays with the baby.
- We access stored data only when needed to run, secure or support the service, for example when you ask us for help.
Usage analytics
To learn which parts of the app are used, the app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog: the screens opened and actions such as “an entry was logged” or “a timer was started”, with only the kind of entry (for example, a feed), or that you joined a waitlist or asked Livia a question (never the question you typed, only what kind of answer it got, roughly how long it took, whether you rated it, and whether you tapped a suggested follow-up, opened a source (and which organisation's), or copied a message — never what you copied). They also say whether key steps worked (asking for a sign-in code, signing in, saving an entry, inviting a caregiver, syncing, importing history from another app) and, if not, a general reason such as “no connection” or “code expired”, plus how many entries were synced or imported (never what they were). An imported file is read on your phone; it is not uploaded. To spot screens that are slow to use, a saved entry also says roughly how long its screen was open (a range such as “under 5 seconds”), a saved bottle says how its amount was set (on the ruler, from a suggested amount, or left as it opened, never the amount itself), and turning on a reminder says whether you allowed notifications. These events are linked to a random account identifier, never to your name or email, and they never include your baby's name, birth date, amounts, times or notes. To see how the app is used at different stages, each event carries the baby's age range only (expecting, 0–4 weeks, 1–3, 3–6, 6–12, 12–18 or 18–24 months, or older) and a random identifier for the baby (the same for every caregiver who shares them, so we can see how a household uses the app together), never the baby's name. PostHog also records your device type, operating system and app version. We don't collect your location, and we don't use these events for advertising or share them with anyone.
If the app hits an error, it sends an error report to PostHog so we can fix it: the kind of error and where in the app it happened, and, when a request to our server failed, its status and error code (such as “403” or “permission denied”). Emails, numbers and quoted text are removed from error messages before they're sent.
This website
If you joined the waitlist on livia.baby (it's closed now), we keep your email address, which campaign or page brought you, and any survey answers you gave. We use them only to tell you about Livia.
If you ask for the beta on livia.baby, we keep your email address, whether you asked for iPhone or Android, which campaign or site brought you, and when we emailed you. We use them only to send you the download link and to ask how Livia is working for you. The email goes through our email provider, Resend.
We count visits to livia.baby with Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and the country, browser and device type. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you across other sites.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data.
- We don't show ads or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use your baby's logs for anything other than running the tracker for you.
If this ever changes, for example if we add product suggestions based on what you log, we will update this page and ask before using your data that way.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account exists. Signing out removes the copy on that phone; the synced copy stays so you can sign back in.
You can delete your account at any time in the app: More → Account → Delete account, then confirm with a code we email you. Deletion is permanent and happens straight away:
- Your account and email address are deleted, and that phone's copy is removed.
- A baby only you track is deleted, along with everything logged for them.
- A baby you share with other caregivers stays with them, including the entries you logged, which they'll see as logged by a former caregiver. If you set that baby up, another caregiver takes over managing it.
- Invites you sent or received are deleted.
- Your place on any premium waitlist, and the questions you sent with it, are deleted.
- The usage analytics linked to your account are deleted from PostHog.
Other phones signed in to your account are signed out once they go online; the tracker data left on them is removed when anyone next signs in there. Deletion doesn't cover a waitlist or beta sign-up on this website; to remove that, or if you can't use the app, email hello@livia.baby from the address you signed up with, and we'll delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it, and delete it yourself in the app (see above). Write to hello@livia.baby and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Livia is made for parents and caregivers. Information about a baby is entered by the adults caring for them; the app is not meant to be used by children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change matters.
