Half-asleep logging goes wrong in predictable ways: an amount with an extra zero, a feed you and your partner both logged, a timer nobody stopped. Livia checks every entry as you save it, and every day in History, for eight kinds of likely slips, and offers a one-tap fix. The rule behind all of them: Livia questions the log, never the baby. It will ask "Did you mean 120 ml?" It will never say "that's too much."
What mistakes does Livia catch?
| What happened | What Livia does |
|---|---|
| An amount that's far outside what's possible, or your baby's usual (1200 ml, or ounces typed as millilitres) | "Did you mean 120 ml?" with the fix one tap away |
| The same thing logged twice within a couple of minutes, often by two parents | Asks which one to remove, each shown with what, when and who logged it |
| A wet diaper and a dirty diaper logged at the same moment | Offers to merge them into one diaper with both |
| A sleep timer, or a feeding timer, running far longer than usual | A gentle check, as a notification, even at night |
| Two sleeps at once, or a meal or daytime bottle logged inside a sleep | Asks which is right |
| An entry that ends before it starts, or starts in the future | Points it out before saving |
| A finished feed or sleep that's many hours long | Asks whether the time is right |
| A long daytime stretch with no sleep logged at all | "Missed a nap? Tap to add it" |
Where do the thresholds come from?
From your baby, where possible. Livia looks at this baby's own last 14 days: how much they usually take in a bottle, how long they usually stay awake. Where there isn't enough history yet, it falls back to wide fixed limits that only a real typo would cross. It never compares your baby to a typical range to decide that something is wrong; typical ranges only appear in Insights, with their source named, and never as a judgement.
What does Livia leave alone on purpose?
Some things look like overlaps and aren't, so Livia doesn't flag them:
- Breastfeeding during a sleep. Dream feeds and contact naps are real.
- A bottle during a sleep in your nighttime hours. A night feed the baby barely wakes for.
- Pumping during a sleep. You pump while the baby naps.
When does it check?
Twice. When you save, so a typo never reaches the log. And in History, where each day with an open question gets a small dot. Open the day and the question sits at the top with the fix beside it. Tap "That's right" and Livia remembers: the question doesn't come back, on your phone or your partner's.
What about a feed I started by mistake?
Undo lives where the mistake happened, for a minute, instead of in a toast that disappears. Start a sleep and the card reads "Just fell asleep" with Cancel where "Woke up" will be. Start a breastfeed and the running side says "Tap to cancel"; a feed under a minute never saves at all. Switch sides by accident and switching back within the minute collapses the stray side. The same minute applies after a relaunch, and your partner's phone reads the entry the same way.
Why does this matter for a baby tracker?
Everything else Livia does rests on the log being right: how long since the last feed, the next nap estimate, last night's total, and later, how many days of formula are left. A log with a 1200 ml bottle in it gives wrong answers everywhere, quietly. Catching the slip at the moment it happens is cheaper than a wrong week of averages.
None of this is about your baby's health. If something about feeding or sleep worries you, ask your pediatrician. Livia is only making sure the record you show them is the one you meant to keep. Get early access, free.
